Alva Joseph ‘Joe’ Moore, age 74, of Point Pleasant Borough, New Jersey, passed away on August 3rd , 2023.
Joe was born in Scranton, PA in 1949 to James A. Moore and Helen Casey Moore, and was one of ten siblings. He graduated from Manasquan High School in 1967 and attended the University of Georgia. A very promising Junior Prom date with classmate Geryl Emig was the beginning of 57 years together. Joe and Geryl were married in May 1972, and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Joe worked for Point Pleasant distributors before making a career change to commercial printing sales, where he found success at Hatteras Press and Toppan Printing. A member of the Manasquan Elks Lodge, Joe was well known locally for his kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan who attended their Super Bowl XXVII victory in 1992. His family and friends will treasure the memories of fun-filled vacations in the Caribbean. Joe adored his grandchildren Joe and Kate, who loved him and the frequent breakfast treat drop offs he made.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister Virginia Moore. Joe is survived by his beloved wife Geryl, daughter Michelle and son-in-law Paul Coffey, daughter Holly and son-in-law Chris Lambert, grandson Joe Lambert, granddaughter Kate Lambert, sister-in-law Etta Mae Matthews and husband James, brother James Moore and his wife Paula, sister Helen Cooper and her husband Cliff, sister Peggy Condron and her husband Christopher, brother Clark Moore and his wife Mary Etta, sister Martha Benson and her husband Robert, sister Mary Ann Forrester and her husband George, brother Scott Moore, brother Casey Moore and many beloved nephews, nieces and cousins.
Services were under the direction of O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick.
