Things are still upside down at our abode with a courtyard and garage filled with furniture while we wait for the damaged hardwood floors to be repaired and refinished. I’m doing my best to have a sense of humor about the chaos, still I’m looking forward to putting my house back together as soon as possible. It’s a back to school mood around here with my daughter packing up for her move to Santa Barbara and my son about to start his senior year of high school.
I’m spending much of the month focused on my ceramics practice at my community clay studio since there is little I can do downstairs until our floors are redone. I have new patterned overlays and colorful glazes to play with and no plans to travel until October. I’m happy that in the coming weeks I’ll have time to build up inventory for the fall and holiday season in my local shop. August is a lovely time of year here, I plan to do a little wine country exploring too. Any special requests or curiosities about the region you’d like me to feature?
