PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia police are investigating after the body of a young child was found along the water on Friday in the city’s Port Richmond neighborhood.
The discovery was made around 5:30 p.m. along the Delaware River near the 3900 block of Delaware Avenue.
According to police, the body is that of a 2-year-old girl.
The discovery comes as police in Bucks County continue searching for two missing children, 2-year-old Matilda Sheils and 9-month-old Conrad Sheils, who were swept away last weekend after severe flooding in Upper Makefield Township.
Further information on the identity of the child found was not immediately available.
Upper Makefield Township police will be holding a press conference on Friday at 9 p.m.
