Just to be clear: Bald eagle tattoos don’t work. Neither do ones making it clear that this person should not be tread upon.
An American flag tattoo? That’s the winner. At least, on the Fourth of July at RPM Raceway in Jersey City. Those with such ink will be given a free ride on what could be the longest indoor go-kart track anywhere.
RPM Raceway co-owner and CEO Eyal Farage said the unusual offer is nothing more than an effort to bring attention to those who proudly support their love of the red, white and blue all year round.
“We are thrilled to announce our exciting Fourth of July promotion, celebrating the essence of patriotism and adrenaline-fueled fun,” Farage said. “We can’t wait to share this exhilarating experience with our passionate community of racers. Remember, nothing says ‘I’m a true patriot,’ quite like a free race and an American flag tattoo.”
Inked patrons are urged to show off their stars and stripes and join RPM as the company celebrates the land of the free and the home of the brave, Farage said. In addition to Jersey City, RPM’s locations in Farmingdale (Long Island), New York, and Stamford, Connecticut, also are honoring the flag.
Those who come to Jersey City may get a bigger and better experience.
RPM Raceway in Jersey City recently hosted the unveiling of its upgraded state-of-the-art multilevel karting track. Located just two miles from Manhattan, its newly redesigned tracks — lined with LED racing halos — were part of a multimillion-dollar renovation of its Jersey City location.
Its two all-new individual tracks combined creates the RPM MEGA-TRACK, the most premium racing experience in the region — and currently considered the world’s longest at more than 2,200 feet with a 72 second lap time. A new trackside bar & grill is in development and slated to open later in 2023, with 360-degree views of the racetrack.
RPM officials say the track has hosted more than 2 million races.
