FIREWORKS IN THE PITTSBURGH AREA. SMELLING BURGERS ON THE GRILL, TASTING AN ICE COLD BEVERAGE. AND IF YOU CAN’T SEE THEM, YOU CAN SURELY HEAR THE POPS OF FIREWORKS ON THE 4TH OF JULY. DO YOU GO FOR ANYTHING SPECIFIC, THOUGH, LIKE BIG STUFF TO GO IN THE AIR AND GO BOOM? THERE’S NO IN DC IS LIKE YOUR WHOLE BLOCK IS LIGHTING UP, SO YOU WANT TO COMPETE AGAINST YOUR NEIGHBORS. YOU KNOW, THEY THEY LIGHT OFF SOMETHING BIG. I GOT SOMETHING FOR THAT. YOU KNOW HENRY JACKSON FOCUSING ON THE COMPETITION WHILE OTHERS BROWSED THE AISLES OF PHANTOM FIREWORKS HERE IN MONROEVILLE, FINDING THE PERFECT MATCH. IT SAYS FIERY FROGS. IS THAT YOUR. THAT’S ONE OF YOUR FAVORITES, RIGHT? YEAH. I LIKE HOW THIS PRETTY COLORS IN THE SKY BEFORE YOU GO LIGHTING UP THE NIGHT SKY FOR THE HOLIDAY. EXPERTS WARN IT’S IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST. ONCE YOU’RE DONE WITH THE FIREWORK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU DUMP WATER ON IT. AND IMPROPER DISPOSAL IS GOING TO BE PUTTING IT INTO A PLASTIC BAG OF SOME SORT. AND THEN PUTTING IT INTO A COVERED TRASH CAN. PHANTOM FIREWORKS ASSISTANT MANAGER DONOVAN RUSSELL SAYS OTHER SAFETY PROTOCOLS INCLUDE ONLY HAVING ADULTS IGNITE THE LIGHT, KEEPING A DISTANCE OF ROUGHLY 150FT BETWEEN AERIAL FIREWORKS AND A STRUCTURE OR AUDIENCE AND NOT MIXING ALCOHOL WITH THE FLAMES. City of Pittsburgh announces Independence Day celebration and fireworks

July 4th celebration: The Clarks at Point State Park, Joe Grushecky on the North Shore, Byron Nash & Jacquea Mae on Liberty Avenue

The Fourth of July is just days away, and the city of Pittsburgh is getting ready to host its annual Independence Day holiday celebration.Several hours of activities are planned throughout the day on July 4, leading up to the grand finale with fireworks at night.One of the big plans includes live music on three stages: Point State Park, headlined by The Clarks; Liberty Avenue, featuring Byron Nash and Jacquea Mae of Nash.v.ill; and Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers at the Great Lawn on the North Shore.Festivities at the Point are set to begin at 4 p.m. with a C-17 flyover, interactive military display, hot air balloon and children’s activities. The celebration will conclude with fireworks at 9:35 p.m.Trulieve, a medical dispensary, is partnering with the city for the first time and will provide resources to veterans and the Pittsburgh community.More information about the July 4 celebration and a full lineup of bands scheduled to perform is posted at pittsburghpa.gov/july4.
