The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey announced four new leadership roles to cater to its growing membership and to advance its mission of advocating and supporting Hispanic small businesses in New Jersey.
The chamber’s investment and growth strategy has resulted in the following new positions for the following people:
- Aixa López, vice president of operations: Her role will continue to oversee the chamber’s operational performance and ensure the successful execution of events in accordance with the annual strategic plan and fiscal responsibilities.
- Jairo Borja, VP of corporate and entrepreneurship programs: Borjo will create and manage grants and existing corporate/entrepreneurship programs and set the strategy for these programs.
- Danilo Melan, program manager: His role involves providing end-to-end program management solutions and leadership in service of the mission and vision of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
- Daniela Vélez, entrepreneurship program coordinator: Her role involves planning, supporting and coordinating entrepreneurship events, grants and program logistics.
The SHCCNJ is the voice of the more than 120,000 Latino businesses contributing more than $20 billion to the state economy. The chamber’s mission remains to educate, train and advocate for its members in the political landscape and provide procurement opportunities for all its members.
SHCCNJ CEO Carlos Medina welcomed the four to their roles.
“For more than 30 years, SHCCNJ has been a strong force due to our ongoing commitment to innovation, improvement and growth, just like our members,” he said. “We see these new positions as investments in our future, allowing us to serve Hispanic small businesses with even more impact and influence.”
