It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Anne Arfsten. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday at Sunnyside Manor in Wall Twp. with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Soen in 2007.
Anne was born on the island of Föhr in Germany in 1923. She met and married her husband Soen on the island. He came to America in 1952 and she followed by ship in 1954 with her two small daughters. They lived in Englewood, NJ where they had their third daughter. Over the years they moved to Manasquan, Brick and then to Wall Twp. Anne was an amazing seamstress, cook and baker. She could always be found working in her garden, which was filled with every type of flower, bush and tree. Growing berries, fruits and vegetables for canning was a passion. She traveled with her husband Soen often to Germany, throughout America and they loved cruising to all different and interesting destinations. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Anne’s love and kindness will be greatly missed by us all.
She leaves behind her children Rosemarie, Sesle and husband Ike and Ingrid. Grandchildren Andreas, Dejay, Andrew, Allison, Erika, Peter, Kaitlin, Alex, Stephanie, Kevin, Lauren, Eric. Great grandchildren Kyli, Gunnar, Lance, Gavin, Keegan, Charlotte, Rachel, Rocco, Leo, Nikko and Frankie. As well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan. A burial at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall Twp. will be private with a celebration of life at a future date to be announced. To send condolences to the family please visit http://www.orenderfamilyhome.net
