Judith Vaughn West, 84, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023 at The Lakes at Litchfield in Pawleys Island, SC. Raised in Hopewell, NJ she graduated from George School in Newton, PA and Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. Judy and her husband Bob resided in Plainfield, NJ and then Mantoloking, NJ where they raised their two children. After his passing, she lived in Point Pleasant Borough and Brick, NJ before relocating to South Carolina in 2015.
Judy was a former long-time member of the Bay Head Yacht Club where she volunteered during sailing races, served on the Trophy Committee, hosted paddle tennis dinners and socialized with her wonderful circle of friends. She was a dedicated grandmother of four and was in attendance for as many of their soccer, baseball and basketball games as possible. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, flower arranging and reading.
She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Ruth Vaughn and her husband, Robert Bell West. Surviving are her daughter, Lucinda Healy of Elkton, MD; her son Andrew West and daughter-in-law Amy West of Murrells Inlet, SC; her beloved grandchildren John Healy (Liz) of Camp Hill, PA; Bobby West of Walnut Creek, CA; Caitlin Newsum (Steffon) of Elkton, MD; and Billy West of New York, NY; and four great-grandchildren, Ayden, Bristol, Ariee and Shay, all of whom she greatly adored.
