Gladys Ruth (née Switzer) Conner, 84 of Spring Lake Heights passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Gladys was born in Point Pleasant and had resided in Spring Lake Heights for over 30 years. She was a graduate of Manasquan High School and had attended Dental Hygienist School.
She was an avid gardener, loved to go shopping, loved all animals, and listening to good music.
In her earlier years, she had worked at the Allaire Hotel, Spring Lake, and most recently at The Arbors, Spring Lake Heights.
She is predeceased by her parents Noel V. and Daisy Mae (née Quirk) Switzer and her grandson US Army Pfc. Ryan D. Christensen on Nov. 24, 2005.
Gladys is survived by her son Charles “Kippy” Conner and wife Cindy of Hillsboro, TN, her 3 daughters Pam Musgrave and husband Ralph of Spring Lake Heights with whom Gladys lived, Karen ‘Mickey’ Conner of Spring Lake Heights, and Suzette DeTulio and husband Mark of Brick Twp., her brother Noel Switzer and wife Dang of Merritt Island, FL., her 10 grandchildren and spouses Sean and Jill, Thomas and Holly, Adam, April, Jessica, Diane, Melyssa and Perry, Michael, Samantha and Michael and Casey, and 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her canine companion Mugsy.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd. Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 9:00am in St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake. Committal will be private at the convenience of the family.
