About the Trail
From its junction with the Schuylkill River Trail in Conshohocken, the Cross County Trail heads north through a mix of urban and suburban areas. Currently, three miles are completed from Conshohocken to Germantown Pike in Plymouth Township. Eventually, the completed 17.5-mile trail will connect to Willow Grove and into Bucks County, providing a major north-south route through the heart of Montgomery County. It will also join up with the Wissahickon Green Ribbon Trail, giving users access to Fort Washington State Park, Morris Arboretum, and Fairmount Park in Philadelphia.
The trail passes by some large shopping areas, such as Ikea, Home Depot, and the Metroplex shopping center, just off Chemical Road. It also provides access to several public transit services in Conshohocken and Plymouth Meeting.
