PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man was shot and killed on a SEPTA bus in the city’s Germantown section on Wednesday night, according to Philadelphia police.
Officials say the victim was in his late teens to early twenties.
The shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. on the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue.
Police say the victim was on the Route 23 bus when the gunfire rang out.
He was taken to an Einstein Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
A 52-year-old SEPTA driver was also nearly struck by the gunfire during the incident, police say. A bullet hit the driver’s partition and narrowly missed the driver’s head.
The suspect in the shooting fled the scene.
Police are now searching for surveillance of the shooting.
