HOW MANY HAND SOAPS HAVE YOU PURCHASED IN YOUR LIFETIME? SO IT’S LIKE WHEN YOU’RE JUST AT THE STORE BUYING THAT ONE THING. IT MIGHT NOT SEEM LIKE A LOT, BUT WHEN YOU PUT INTO CONTEXT OVER THE COURSE OF YOUR LIFETIME, IT IS A BIG IMPACT. DID YOU KNOW THEY SELL SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER IN BAR FORM AND IT COMES IN RECYCLABLE CARDBOARD? ZERO PLASTIC TO WORRY ABOUT. WE WENT TO LOVELY SALON IN PETERS, WHERE OWNER AND STYLIST JULIE LEE AGREED TO TRY IT OUT ON ME. SO IT SAYS WHAT? YOUR HAIR WHICH WE DID WET THE BAR SO KIND OF LIKE WE WERE TELLING ME. YEAH YOU LIKE LEAVE IT IN YOUR HAND. IT’S WEIRD. AND IT’S TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU’RE USED TO. IT MAKES SENSE, THOUGH, BECAUSE THEN YOU’RE ACTUALLY LIKE GETTING THE PRODUCT, BUT IT’S SUDS IN. THAT’S IMPRESSIVE. I DIDN’T THINK IT WOULD. OKAY. AND WE RINSE, RINSE AND THEN CONDITIONER. I GOT SOME ADVICE TO HOLD THE CONDITIONER BAR UNDER THE STREAM OF WATER, BUT WE’RE JUST GOING TO DO IT. OKAY, THAT MAKES SENSE. IT MELTS. IT KIND OF. OOH, SO YOUR HAIR ACTUALLY FEELS REALLY GOOD. SHANNON, YOU SOUND SURPRISED. I AM. WELL, LET’S GO TRY IT AND SEE HOW IT. JULIE SAYS SO FAR THE BAR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER AIR IS NOT BAD. YOU STILL GOT VOLUME AND EVERYTHING. SO WHAT DOES A PROFESSIONAL HAIRSTYLIST THINK OF THE PLASTIC FREE PRODUCT? I DON’T. NOT LIKE IT. I’M A LITTLE SHOCKED. I REALLY DIDN’T THINK I WAS GOING TO LIKE IT AT ALL. BUT I THINK YOUR HAIR FEELS GREAT. OKAY, I HAVE QUESTIONS AS IF IT’S LIKE COLOR SAFE FOR PEOPLE, YOU KNOW, LIKE LONGEVITY WISE. NOT EXACTLY A RINGING ENDORSEMENT, BUT THE PLASTIC FREE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER MADE MY HAIR LOOK LIKE THIS ALONG WITH JULIE’S EXPERTISE. SHE DOES A NICE JOB. OKAY, SO JULIE, LIKE LOTS OF SALONS, SELLS HIGH END SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER THAT’S DESIGNED TO HELP WITH ALL KINDS OF HAIR NEEDS. BUT FOR THOSE OF US WHO USE MAYBE SOME GROCERY STORE BRANDS LIKE I OFTEN DO, I REALLY DIDN’T SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THESE PROJECTS. PRODUCTS ARE NOW TO COST ONE BAR OF THIS SHAMPOO IS $8, ONE BOTTLE OF A SIMILAR SHAMPOO. WELL, IT’S $12. SO ALREADY THERE’S A COST SAVINGS, BUT THE LABEL SAYS THAT ONE BAR IS EQUAL TO THREE BOTTLES. SO WASH FOR WASH $8 FOR THE PLASTIC FREE SHAMPOO WAS COSTING YOU WAY LESS THAN $36 FOR THREE PLASTIC BOTTLES
