Custer ‘Cus’ Dalik, Jr., 81, of Point Pleasant passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Born November 21, 1941 in Englishtown and lived there and in Robertsville. He married Dolores Gadino from Union City on May 7, 1966 and they lived in Robertsville. On February 2, 1967 they had a son, Steven and in 1974 they moved to Point Pleasant.
Cus was a life member of the American Legion. He was also a life member of the Point Pleasant Elks, Lodge 1698. He served as Exalted Ruler, vice president of the South East District, and he also served as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler of the South East District. He was also the State Chairman of the New Jersey State Elks Association National Veterans Services for five years and was a member of many other Elk Committees.
Cus served in the United States Army, from January 1959 until 1965, where he was a member of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC, and 8th Infantry Division, Germany. Cus was also stationed at Fort Ord, CA and Tan Son Nhut, Vietnam.
He worked for HHC CORP, McDonald’s Franchisee, for thirty-five years as facilities manager and retired in 2019.
Custer was predeceased by his wife, Dolores in 2020.
He leaves behind his beloved son, Steven; and his beloved beagle, Deeja. He also leaves his brother, David and his wife, Geri of Milford, DE; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
At 1 p.m., Friday, May 19 a committal service with honors and inurnment will be held at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
