Priyanka Chopra Jonas is definitely one lucky woman. After being crowned Miss World at 18 during the 50th anniversary of the competition, the beauty queen went on to become one of the world’s highest paid actors. Chopra Jonas is currently enjoying a stellar crossover career in Hollywood and is the first Bollywood star to do so on such an influential scale. The Desi actor made television history in 2015 as the first South Asian person to headline an American network drama series with her role as Alex Parrish in ABC’s dramatic series Quantico. Time named the international star one of its 100 most influential people in the world. Forbes chose her as one of the world’s most influential women. In lavish ceremonies that were talked about worldwide, Chopra Jonas married überfamous pop star Nick Jonas in 2018, and the couple recently welcomed their first child. The UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador has definitely lived a full life, with many more consequential years to come. Here, we take a look at some of the places she’s called home through it all.
2007
Mumbai’s upscale coastal suburb of Versova is where the Matrix Resurrections actor chose to settle in 2007. In her early 20s, but already on her way to conquering Indian cinema, Chopra Jonas put down roots in an area teeming with other Bollywood actors and bought two units in an exclusive building. The very family-oriented star, who previously lived with her parents, connected the adjacent apartments so that her parents occupied one side, while the kitchen and dining room were shared. “Privacy is important after a point of time,” Chopra Jonas’s father told the Times of India at the time of purchase, “but I also believe in the unity of the family. To make sure that we interact with Priyanka frequently, we have decided to have a common kitchen and dining area. Everything else will be completely separate.” Chopra Jonas sold both apartments in 2021.
2013
Goa, the southwestern Indian state known for its beaches, colonial architecture, and high-earning citizens, is the location of Chopra Jonas’s vacation home. The New York Times best-selling author bought a $2.4 million dollar villa back in 2013 and has posted several social media pictures of both her and family members enjoying the property.
“I want to go to a local beach, sit in a shack, eat fish with the sand between my toes, and have a gimlet,” the Citadel star told The Zoe Report about what she’d like to do on her next visit to Goa. The actor, who is known by friends for her love of the sea, chose the holiday house for its proximity to the popular Baga Beach.
2014
Chopra Jonas added to her real estate portfolio with the purchase of a contemporary-style apartment in Upper Lokhandwala, another of Mumbai’s super posh neighborhoods. But an ongoing spat between the building’s developers prevented the former beauty queen and other high-profile tenants from moving in until 2017. Despite the extreme delay, the building seems to have been worth the wait. Amenities include a state-of-the-art gym, tennis court, soccer pitch, a kidney-shaped pool, a movie theater, spa, and a clubhouse.
2015
Being the first Bollywood actor to find major success in Hollywood keeps the Sona restaurant and Sona Home owner busy in the US. Despite bouncing between the two worlds, India remained Chopra Jonas’s home base for many years. In 2015 the actor moved out of her Versova apartment into a luxury building with ocean views a short distance away. The five-bedroom unit was much larger than her last, and glimpses of the spacious living room and curved balcony can be seen on the actor’s social media. It’s also the place Chopra Jonas held her intimate engagement party in 2018. It’s unclear when she sold the abode, but by 2021 another Bollywood actor had taken up residence there.
2017
The Baywatch beauty picked up some pretty posh digs when she bought a four-bedroom apartment in the Four Seasons Private Residences New York Downtown. The Robert A.M. Stern–designed tower holds 157 residential units, which sit above a Four Seasons hotel. All residents in the hotel-condominium hybrid building are granted access to the luxurious hotel amenities. In addition, exclusive concierges, a private dining room, a screening room, and a conservatory are available to building residents.
2019
After a five-month engagement, Chopra Jonas and Jonas wed in a multiday bash in India in 2018 that included numerous celebrations and both traditional Christian and Hindu ceremonies. The couple settled down in Los Angeles, and Chopra Jonas moved into the $6.5 million midcentury-modern Beverly Hills Post Office manse Jonas purchased just three months before popping the question. After about a year of owning it, Jonas sold the 4,129-square-foot house to tennis champ Naomi Osaka for $6.9 million, and by November of 2019, the newlyweds had found the perfect new place to start their life together.
The couple’s purchase of a $20 million mansion in the affluent Los Angeles suburb of Encino broke record prices for the neighborhood. The massive manse clocks in at about 20,000 square feet, with 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. A major highlight is its double-height living room that opens up to an infinity pool and expansive views of lush vegetation and mountain ranges beyond. Other notable features include a movie theater, a two-lane bowling alley, a mirror-walled gymnasium, a restaurant-quality wet bar, an indoor basketball court, and an expansive games room and lounge.
