RADNOR – Radnor police recognized a 22-year-old Villanova senior after he helped officers arrest a suspect that fled from a police stop.
The incident occurred on April 17 when Radnor Police Officer Kyle Hand conducted a traffic stop of a man on a scooter along the 800 block of East Lancaster Avenue in Villanova.
After the officer gathered the man’s information, he discovered Roland Brown, 27, of Coatesville, was wanted out of several jurisdictions.
Police said Brown then took off running from the scene, crossing the train tracks near Aldwyn Lane.
Phil Sandor, the Villanova student, witnessed the event and gave the officer a ride around the train tracks.
Brown was located in the yard of a home on Aldwyn Lane and was taken into custody by police without incident.
This past week, Radnor Police Superintendent Chris Flanagan recognized Sandor with a certificate of appreciation for his help.
“Phil! If the finance degree doesn’t work out, we are always looking for good Officers,” Radnor police wrote in a social media post.
