After a month of horrific and repeating reports of mass shootings and gun violence, former New Jersey Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg is leading a demonstration at the Arbor Terrace Teaneck, an independent senior living community, tomorrow, April 25th.
“Our community is tired of watching the NRA, right-wing extremists and GOP pundits continue to be the loudest voices in the room in the wake of these tragedies. But we are also tired of seeing our responsible representatives in Congress throw up their hands and act hostage to the most extreme elements in our country.
“We must demand universal background checks. We must ban assault rifles, and we can’t stop making noise until we do. We are rallying tomorrow to show that if we can make noise in our 80s and 90s, then so can our federal officials in Washington and so can all of you who, like us, are tired of watching this epidemic of gun violence remain unchecked as it wreaks havoc on our nation and our nation’s children.”
Date: Tuesday, April 25th starting at 12pm, noon Location: Arbor Terrace Teaneck 600 Frank W Burr Blvd, Teaneck, NJ 07666, Building B
Speakers will include:
- Former Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg
- Dennis Hirschfelder, President of Bergen County Brady Campaign
- Robyn Platis – Co-leader of the Bergen-Passaic local chapter of Moms Demand Action
