Helen Mullins, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 11th . Helen was born on January 7, 1930 to John and Loretto (Lynch) Mullins in Jersey City.
She graduated from Dickinson High School and worked at the Equitable Insurance Company her whole career. She spent many Christmas seasons bringing her nieces and nephews to see The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City in NYC. She volunteered with many different organizations her whole life; St. Vincent Hospital in NYC, Ocean Medical center in Bricktown, and Madonna House in Neptune. She was awarded the Point Pleasant Beach Rotary Volunteer of the Year 2015. She was known fondly as “Aunt Helen” to all who knew and loved her.
She was also known to her family as ‘Headline Helen’ – She would start a story but not be able to give full details.
She is predeceased by her parents, sisters Mary, Catherine (John), Loretta (Sam), and survived by her sister Annette (Leonard) and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Wednesday April 19, 2023 from 4:00-8:00pm at Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Ave, Pt. Pleasant Beach. A Funeral Mass was Thursday 10:00am at St. Peter’s Church Pt. Pleasant Beach. Entombment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall.
