Detroit Pistons forward Marvin Bagley III has been busy off the court wheeling and dealing in the world of real estate.
On the heels of selling his enormous spread near Sacramento, the basketball pro has also put his contemporary home in Fountain Hills, AZ, on the market for $4 million.
“From what I understand, it was bought as an off-season home,” says listing agent Lee Courtney, with West USA Realty- Scottsdale.
Bagley purchased the desert dwelling in July 2020 for $2.2 million.
Built in 2009, the 9,230-square-foot home appears as if it was constructed much more recently.
“Contemporary styling is more popular now, and I think they were a little ahead of their time when they built the home,” Courtney says. “The architecture is very current. The colors are very current with what buyers and people that are building are selecting.”
The home is vacant and move-in ready.
Courtney says the highlight of the home is undoubtedly the views it offers.
“It literally has unobscured views of Fire Rock pretty much from every room in the house—the great room, the [primary] bedroom, the living room, kitchen, dining, and the game room,” she says. “You just want to be in this house. The energy is amazing. If you’re not looking at Fire Rock, you’re staring out to the mountains from the front of the house.”
One of the home’s seven bedrooms is more like an apartment with its own living space and a kitchenette.
“I nicknamed it the sky loft, because it’s on the third level and it has so many windows, it’s literally almost completely panoramic,” Courtney says. “It is a big guest bedroom that has a viewing deck out to Fire Rock and then a viewing deck out the front of the home.”
Outside, there’s an infinity pool, a spa, fire pit area, and patios wrapping all the way around the back of the home.
“This is certainly an entertaining home” Courtney says. “This is definitely a showpiece house. … It’s a very livable home. The size is big, but it doesn’t feel overly big. It feels very welcoming and comfortable.”
Just a few days before listing this Arizona home, Bagley put his Sacramento, CA, home on the market for $1,995,000.
Bagley went to high school in Tempe, AZ, and played college basketball for a season at Duke. He was the second overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings, before being traded to the Pistons in 2022. Public records show he recently bought a modest home in Michigan.
