Lawrence Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and the Meadows at Lawrence in Lawrenceville appointed Dr. Priti Gujar as medical director, according to a recent announcement from the skilled nursing facilities.
Located at 1 Bishops Drive, the community is part of the 40-acre Lawrence health care campus, which is undergoing a comprehensive repositioning and rebranding.
Gujar is a certified medical director. She is affiliated with Capital Health System Hospitals. In 2009, she established her own practice, Geriatric Treatment Resources LLC, which is based in Lawrenceville. She is board certified in family medicine and geriatric medicine.
“Dr. Gujar is widely respected in the area for her expertise in geriatric medicine and her warm manner,” Erin Popelak, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the Lawrence campus, said. “The teams at Lawrence Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and the Meadows are thrilled to have Dr. Gujar play a leadership role as they embark on this new chapter.”
The 120-bed Lawrence Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center (formerly St. Joseph’s) provides post-hospital, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The 60-bed Meadows at Lawrence (formerly Morris Hall Meadows) features 60 long-term care beds, inclusive of six residential long-term care cottages, built around the green house residential skilled nursing model.
The health care campus has a rich legacy, having been in operation for decades. In addition to the two distinct skilled nursing components, it includes Lawrence Rehabilitation Hospital and the Terraces at Lawrence, an assisted living community. A campuswide modernization and programming enhancement is underway.
“It’s certainly an exciting time to join Lawrence Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and the Meadows at Lawrence,” Gujar said. “I look forward to working closely with the clinical teams in providing progressive skilled nursing care to ensure the best possible outcomes for those in our care.”
Active in the medical community, Gujar is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Directors Association and the American Geriatric Society. She is also a fellow with the American Professional Wound Care Association.
